In the spirit of the Twitter Friday Follow, the Book Blogger Hop is a place just for book bloggers and readers to connect and find new book-related blogs that we may be missing out on! This weekly BOOK PARTY is an awesome opportunity for book bloggers to connect with other book lovers, make new friends, support each other, and generally just share our love of books! It will also give blog readers a chance to find other book blogs that they may not know existed! So, grab the logo, post about the Hop on your blog, and start HOPPING through the list of blogs that are posted in the Linky list below!!
The Hop lasts Friday-Monday every week, so if you don’t have time to Hop today, come back later and join the fun! This is a weekly event! And stop back throughout the weekend to see all the new blogs that are added! We get over 200 links every week!!
Your blog should have content related to books, including, but not limited to book reviews.
If you start following someone through the Hop, leave a comment on their blog to let them know! Stop back during the week to see other blogs that are added! And, most importantly, the idea is to HAVE FUN!!
This Week’s Twist:
Post a link to a favorite post or book review that you have written in the past three months.

THURSDAY

HELP!!!  Advice needed!!  For some reason, and I don’t know why, I am in a reading slump.  And even though I am having anxiety as I see all the books in my tbr review policy, I find myself doing more blogging then reading because I just haven’t been in a reading mood.  Has this happened to you?  How do you reverse the slump?  Any and/or all advice and/or tips, would be greatly appreciated!!  I need to get a part of my anatomy in gear.

Today’s Question:
You’ve just dropped your favorite, out-of-print book into a bathtub, ruining it completely … What do you do now?
My Answer:
Cry, and through the tears, uttering some very choice words!!  Then put it in the microwave, nuke it every few seconds until dry, to salvage what I could.  And probably utter some more choice words!!!

It struck me recently how much time I spend on this computer every day, blogging, chatting or playing games on Facebook, emailing friends and relatives, making cards and calendars, etc. etc. etc.
We depend on each other for book reviews, giveaways, encouragement, friendship, but how well do we really know each other?
This week school started for my kids and I realized what that means. Think back, if you are old like me, think way back, whathappens at the start of a school year.
You renew friendships and make new ones.
You get to know each other.
So that is what this meme is all about, getting to know each other.
Each Thursday I will post 3 questions for you to answer that you can copy and post on your blog with your answers.
1. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE FLOWER?
There are many, but my favorite is the Star Gazer Lily.  The scent is wonderful
Photobucket

2. WHAT IS YOUR USUAL MORNING BEVERAGE?
     Coffee…at least 3 mugs

3. DID YOU WATCH THE PRIME TIME EMMYS? WHAT DID YOU THINK OF THE OPENING MUSICAL NUMBER?
No,  didn’t watch it.  But watched the YouTube video that you provided and thought it was great.  Just loved Betty White.  God Bless her to do what she does at her age.  What a beautiful woman.

  Title Talk on Thursday
Title Talk on Thursday is a NEW weekly bookish meme, hosted by Tea Time with Marce. A time to share opinions on how the title represented the story, while networking and adding to your Wishlist. All Genre’s of Books are Welcomed.
*Title
     The Remains
*Author
     Vincent Zandri
*Genre
     Thriller
*Summary of the book
Synopsis (borrowed from PUYB): Thirty years ago, teenager Rebecca Underhill and her twin sister Molly were abducted by a man who lived in a house in the woods behind their upstate New York farm. They were held inside that house for three horrifying hours, until making their daring escape.
Vowing to keep their terrifying experience a secret in order to protect their mother and father, the girls tried to put the past behind them. And when their attacker was hunted down by police and sent to prison, they believed he was as good as dead.
Now, it’s 30 years later, and with Molly having passed away from cancer, Rebecca, a painter and art teacher, is left alone to bear the burden of a secret that has only gotten heavier and more painful with each passing year.
But when Rebecca begins receiving some strange anonymous text messages, she begins to realize that the monster who attacked her all those years ago is not dead after all. He’s back, and this time, he wants to do more than just haunt her. He wants her dead.
*Opinion on Title, is it a clever title, a grab your attention title, is it original, does it match the genre, etc
Both the cover and title, in my opinion, describes the book.  I am a bit biased though, I am a big fan of this author, so no matter what the title or cover is, I will read his books.

Award Time

Photobucket

I recently found this wonderful and delightful blog, “Mandy’s Escape” that I have been following for a few weeks.  So this morning, with coffee mug in hand and scrolling through my google reader of “Blogs I Follow”, I saw that she had posted that she has just received her first award.  You could feel her excitement in what she wrote.  I remember how I felt when I received my first award, so I clicked on her site with the intentions of congratulating her.  It was the first time seeing this particular award, so I read everything she had written due to the criteria.  And then…..WHAM…was I seeing things…I knew it was only my 1st cup of coffee so had to reread it again!!!  She was passing it on to me!!!  What a total surprise!!!  I felt the excitement as I did the first time I received an award and have felt with every single one since.  If you haven’t visited Mandy at Mandy’s Escape, I am sure that if you do, you will be following her too.  So stop by, say hi and see why I now follow her.  Mandy…thank you so very much!!!!!!  This is the award that she has presented me with:

Photobucket
Now for the criteria:
To accept the award you must link back and thank the person who gave you the Life is Good award and answer the 10 questions and pass it along to 6 other blogs 🙂

1. If you blog anonymously are you happy doing it that way; if you are not anonymous do you wish you had started out anonymously so you could be anonymous now?

When I stumbled upon a book blog back in Sept/Oct, I created my blog to be a private personal journal of books I had read.  But the more I visited different blogs, I wanted to join in on the fun.  So went public in December. And glad I did!!!  I enjoy every minute of it and have met the nicest people.
2.Describe one incident that shows your inner stubborn side.
Not sure if this constitutes my “inner stubborn side” but when I decided to enter this blogging/reviewing community, I pledged to myself to be honest and credible even if it meant not agreeing with the majority of reviews.  But then, I think that is one of the great thing about this neighborhood, is that we can disagree.
3.What do you see when you really look at yourself in the mirror?
A 20, 40, #year old who is now an empty nester, proud of the way my boys turned out but wonder where the years went.  And hopefully a kind, caring, honest person.
4. What is your favorite summer cold drink?
A Dunkin Donuts Iced Coffee
5. When you take time for yourself, what do you do?
Read!!! or blog.
6.Is there something you still want to accomplish in your life? What is it?
To be a grandmother and spoil the grandchildren rotten, then send them home with my boys.  LOL Payback is a B____!  Travel with hubby.
7. When you attended school, were you the class clown, the class overachiever , the shy person, or always ditching?
I was just your above average everyday student.  I do remember from elementary school through high school, that along with my text books I always had my personal current read with me at all times.  However, in college, reading for pleasure took a back seat.
8. If you close your eyes and want to visualize a very poignant moment of your life what would you see? The birth of my first child.
The birth of our 2 sons.  Seems like yesterday!
9. Is it easy for you to share your true self in your blog or are you more comfortable writing posts about other people or events?
I feel that my personality comes through in the way I blog.  I am willing to share some personal information but not all.
10. If you had the choice to sit down and read or talk on the phone, which would you do and why?
It would depend on my mood.  I can be a chatterbox at times and other times, just want to get lost in a book.
Now I will pass this award on.  Because I could sense out excited Mandy was when she received this award, I have decided to pass this on to new bloggers and they are (in no particular order)
